Miami Legendz Select – Important Next Steps

Congratulations! Your athlete has been selected for Miami Legendz Select travel basketball program. We are thrilled you are ready to take the next steps to becoming a great basketball player. Whether you have an extensive background or not, we are confident in our ability to train and develop players and look forward to working with you.

Team Overview & Program Structure

Miami Legendz Select is committed to providing a structured, development-focused travel basketball experience designed to prepare players physically, mentally, and fundamentally for competitive play.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE & STRUCTURE

Weekly Practice Format

The team will train twice weekly (unless we have a weekend tournament) with a balance of physical preparation, skill development, and team system implementation.

Sunday Team Practices (1-3pm unless otherwise communicated; 2 Hours)

Sunday practices (non-tournament weekends) will serve as our primary on-court development sessions and will include a combination of:

• Skill development and fundamentals

• Implementation of team systems and concepts

• Situational basketball and decision-making training

• Film study and game breakdown when applicable

• Competitive drills and live play

Practice dynamics will vary to ensure players are developing comprehensively in all areas of the game.

Midweek Training (Wednesdays)

We will practice on Wednesdays, with exact times finalized and communicated through our team platform.

Beginning in March, Wednesday sessions will focus on strength and conditioning, conducted by a reputable performance coach based in the Dadeland area. These sessions are designed to help players:

• Build proper athletic foundations

• Improve endurance and injury prevention

• Develop strength, agility, and movement efficiency

• Prepare physically for the demands of tournament play

Our priority during the first month is ensuring players are conditioned safely and effectively before entering full competitive schedules.

J•HOOPS SKILLS ACADEMY

In addition to our scheduled weekly trainings, players are also encouraged to attend the J Hoops Skills Academy led by Coach Byars Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-6:15pm. This is another option to further skill development, extra reps and gameplay situations.

SEASON START

Our first official team practice is expected to begin March 1, with the regular weekly schedule beginning shortly thereafter.

TEAM COMMUNICATION & MASTER CALENDAR

Miami Legendz Select uses a dedicated team communication platform to ensure clear, organized, and timely information sharing.

Through the platform, families will have access to:

• A master team calendar with all practice and tournament dates

• Real-time schedule updates and changes

• Instant notifications sent directly to mobile devices

• Team announcements and important program information

This system allows families to stay fully informed and helps maintain a smooth, professional team operations

PLATFORM ORIENTATION SESSION

To ensure all families are comfortable using the communication platform, we will schedule a brief virtual orientation session.

This will be a 15–20 minute Zoom meeting where we will:

• Walk through how the platform works

• Show how to access schedules and updates

• Answer any questions regarding communication procedures

Details regarding the meeting date and time will be shared shortly.

PROGRAM FEE & PAYMENT OPTIONS

The total Miami Legendz Select program fee for the season is $950 per player. We understand families may prefer flexible payment arrangements, so we offer the following options:

Pay in Full: $950 due upon confirmation

Split Payment: $500 initial deposit with a remaining balance of $500 due May 15.

Monthly Payment Plan: $300 initial deposit and 3 scheduled installments of $250 (April 1/May 1/June 1)

Your program fee covers:

  • Professional Coaching, Practice Planning and Structured Skill Development Curriculum

  • Tournament Participation Fees (minimum of 8 Tournaments)

  • Customized Uniform Package

  • Practice facilities and Equipment (basketballs, etc.)

  • Player Insurance Coverage, Waivers and Compliance

  • AAU Membership Per Player

  • Assistant Coach/Staff Compensation

  • Strength and Conditioning Resources

  • Program Fee

    All players are responsible for travel expenses incurred, including meals and hotels.

Player Fees can be paid in full, partial payments, or initial deposit of monthly installments before March 2, 2026.

DEADLINE

With the season fast-approaching, the deadline to accept your spot is Monday, February 23 at 9am. Full or partial payments in the amount of $500 or $300 should be made by Monday, March 2 as jerseys will need to be ordered immediately to ensure we begin our tournament season on time.
